Authors, producers of movies, advertisement agencies or programmers of software enjoy legal protection of their intellectual property. By means of license agreements, authors on the one hand and users of copyright protected works on the other can agree on the scope and conditions under which for example a book will be published, a movie will be shown, advertisement will be placed or software can be used. For instance, the scope of the license, warranty and liability issues but also the right of modification of the work and of making back-up copies can be subject of such contract. Further, copyright owners are entitled to sue pirates and infringers of their copyright, claiming for damages and a temporary or permanent injunction.
