Ruth Dünisch specializes in distribution law. She drafts franchising, licensing and agency agreements and advises clients on the structure and reorganization of their sales departments, for example when companies are expanding nationally or internationally. She gives advice on company start-ups, including in the areas of trademark, distribution antitrust and commercial law with interface to company law. Her range of services extends from introducing modern sales strategies, such as franchising or e-commerce, to converting existing branches into franchise or agency networks, not to mention providing legal support on day-to-day business. Ruth Dünisch acts for national and international companies in disputes with sales partners, for example in mediation proceedings and court cases. Ruth Dünisch studied law at the University of Bayreuth, specializing in economics, and she has been practicing as attorney since 1990. She built up valuable years of experience in distribution as chief counsel and Deputy Managing Director of the German Franchise Association where she was the point of contact for about 450 member companies. From 1993 to 2001 she was also General Secretary of the Legal Committee of the European Franchise Federation in Brussels, with a special interest in "Lobby work on the EU Block Exemption Regulation for vertical restraints" and from 1996 to 1999 she was General Secretary of the World Franchise Council. Ruth Dünisch has been freelance again since 2001. Ruth Dünisch is the co-author of several books and regularly publishes specialist papers. Her publications on franchising and various other distribution topics have so far appeared in the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper, the Handelsblatt, Markt + Mittelstand and Canadian Business Magazine. She speaks at conferences, seminars, Chamber of Commerce events and trade fairs. Ruth Dünisch is a member of the Legal Committee of the German Franchise Association, the American German Business Club (AGBC) and the German Bar Association. Mother tongue: German. Excellent command of written and spoken English, also for negotiation purposes.
