Private International Law - Conflict of Laws

Which law is applicable when a company having its seat in Germany enters into an agreement with a business partner in another country? Which legal system governs the transfer of ownership in cross-border business transactions? Is it possible to make an agreement on the choice of law? Is such a choice of law applicable for all turns a specific case might take?

Private international law deals with the regulations governing conflicts of laws, which individual countries have created for the interfaces between their legal systems and those of other countries or with cross-national or international conventions such as the UN Sales Convention.
